Why replacement windows and doors?
There are many reasons to replace your doors or windows:
Energy efficiency and savings – Replacing old windows and doors with modern insulated products made from superior materials means you use less energy heating and cooling your home.

Replacement windows are a fantastic solution for many homeowners for the simple reason that windows can be installed in a matter of hours and usually an entire house of windows can be installed in one day. Choosing replacement windows can drastically cut labor costs when compared to nail-on windows which require breaking stucco, drywall repairs, and the nearly impossible challenge of matching the new stucco with the old stucco. From design to completion, a replacement window project can often be done within just a couple of weeks.

Do I have to install them myself?
No, we have in-house contractors for retrofitted vinyl and aluminum window and door products. Products need to be purchased through us before we install.

Do you come out to measure the windows and doors?
We come to your home by appointment to look at, advise and take rough measurements to prepare a quote for you. We take a lot of pride in projects that we get involved in so design consultation by our professional staff is a true benefit in doing business with us,...that's something that you just can't compare at the "big box" stores.
After we perform those steps, we prepare a quote and quickly get it back to you. If you decide to make the purchase, after your payment, we have our installers return for exact measurements to prepare the order for the manufacturer.

If we have our own contractor, will you deliver the windows and doors?
We can make arrangements after your windows and doors arrive to deliver them at a small cost. Please ask us about this at the time of order so we can let you know.

American Window's staff is wonderful! The salesman, the people inside the showroom and the installers were very helpful, friendly, polite and did everything right to show me that they really cared about us getting the right products for our house. They made me feel very welcome and as if I was a guest in their home while I was at the showroom and even offered me refreshments. The showroom was very nice and had a great selection of products and brands. We have already noticed our electric bills dropping due to our Air Conditioner running so much less. We are completely satisfied and would definitely refer our friends and family to these great people. We knew we were dealing with a good company especially after we thought that we "had to" get three other quotes. The other window companies all had the same approach which none of them were a good experience for us. They would not come out unless both my husband and I were home (which meant my husband had to get off work early), they had ridiculous prices which were almost double what we paid, and their salesmen told us that they were giving us as much as a $8,000 discount. Yah right! I don't want to go on and on about the negative experiences with those companies. You get the picture. Michele

Description Of Work: Remove and replace two bay windows and one standard window; remove aluminum sliding door and replace with French doors.
Member Comments: American was consistently prompt in every aspect of their service; from providing estimates, to making appointments for measurements, to final installation of the windows and doors. Installation was somewhat delayed due to rainy weather, however American was in constant contact with us to let us know what was going on and when we could reschedule the work. On the day of installation, the crew arrived on time and worked non-stop throughout the day to ensure that all installation work and clean-up was completed in one day. As the exterior walls of our house are solid concrete and the existing windows were custom sized and grouted into the walls, removing the existing casement windows to replace them with vinyl sliders was a challneging task. American's crew completed the work on time and flawlessly. As a Public Works professional, I deal with all types of contractors on a daily basis. If they all performed as well as American, my job would be considerably easier.

Description Of Work: Removed all old windows. Delivered and installed six large windows, three small windows, and one patio door/window with flat vinyl interior trim on all windows. Installed interior casing on the patio door/window.
Member Comments: After finding the American Window Company on Angie s List, we called them and visited their showroom. Danny (the owner) gave us information on the different kinds of windows, sizes, kinds of glass and answered all the questions we had. The following workday, he came to the house, measured all our windows, and then called and gave us a price. A few days later, we went to the showroom, had more of our questions answered, and signed a contract to replace seven big windows, three little windows, and a patio door/window in our house. Then, a final measurement was taken the following day. Approximately two weeks later the windows arrived and we set up a date to have them installed. Ruben and James came and installed all the windows except the patio door/window. There was a problem with one of the windows, but it was quite satisfactorily solved between Danny and us. The next day, they came and installed our beautiful patio door/window. We very highly recommend the American Window Company; they all were highly capable from the time of our first meeting to the time during installation. We are extremely satisfied with our choice of the company, the windows, and the installers. We especially appreciated a satisfaction-check by John after completion of the installation. Day and night for several days, we looked at our beautiful windows, both inside and outside, and are awed both at the quality of the windows and the proficient installation.

Member Comments: Hector returned my call quickly and came to give me a free estimate. We decided on June 1, 2007 at 8 AM, and on the stroke of 8 he was there. I had 2 other quotes to consider but, decided to go with him as his was much lower than the others. I had a chance to go to their office and found all the employees were just as friendly, the receptionist offered us water or Gator Ade. Hector said it would take approximately 2 weeks for the windows to arrive, they would then call to schedule an appointment for the installation. They arrived within 5 min. of the scheduled time (8 AM). When the installers arrived they immediately covered the floors with cloths in order to protect my newly installed laminated floors. They cleaned up as they went. The installers were very polite and friendly, he took the time to explain everything I needed to know regarding my new windows. My home looks really nice and up to date. They were done by 10:20 AM. All in all I am very happy with the work that was done.
