Therma-Tru Doors
The Original Fiberglass Entry Door, Built for Style, Security & Lasting Performance
Therma-Tru’s story began in 1962, when David Welles bought a building supply company in Toledo, Ohio. In 1983, the company introduced the Fiber-Classic door, the first fiberglass entry door on the market. It had the beauty of real wood without wood’s tendency to warp, rot, or crack. Today Therma-Tru manufactures fiberglass and steel exterior door systems sold throughout North America. Every door is engineered as a complete system, with a frame, weatherstripping, sill, and glass designed to work together for a tight seal and smooth operation for years to come.
At American Window Company, we’re proud to offer Therma-Tru entry and exterior doors to homeowners throughout Southern California. Our team can help you compare collections, choose the right glass and finish, and ensure a seamless installation from start to finish.

FAQs
Is American Window Company a Therma-Tru dealer?
Yes. We offer Therma-Tru entry and exterior doors to homeowners throughout Southern California, from our Covina showroom and Chino office to Orange County. Our team helps with everything from choosing a door to professional installation.
Are fiberglass entry doors better than wood or steel?
Fiberglass gives you the look of real wood without the upkeep. It won’t warp, rot, or crack in the Southern California sun, and unlike steel, it typically won’t dent or rust. Steel doors are a more affordable option that still delivers strength and security. The right choice depends on your style, budget, and how much maintenance you want.
What's the difference between Classic-Craft and Fiber-Classic doors?
Both are fiberglass with a wood-grain finish. Classic-Craft is Therma-Tru’s premium line, with its most authentic grain detailing. Fiber-Classic is the original fiberglass door and offers classic Mahogany and Oak grain styles at a great value.
Are Therma-Tru doors energy efficient?
Yes. Therma-Tru fiberglass doors have a solid polyurethane foam core, one of the most energy-efficient door materials available, and most decorative and privacy glass options are triple-pane. More than 80% of Therma-Tru door and glass options are ENERGY STAR® qualified.
Can I add sidelites or a transom to my new door?
Absolutely. Therma-Tru offers matching sidelites and transoms with a wide range of decorative, privacy, and energy-efficient glass options, so you can brighten your entryway and create a custom look.
Do Therma-Tru doors come with a warranty?
Yes. Therma-Tru backs its door systems with a Lifetime Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects, and a transferable version is available. Some coverage has exclusions, including for homes near salt water, so our team will walk you through the details for your door and location.
